Cell Phone Dangers

A recent study published in the United Kingdom found that in people who have used cellular phones for 10 years or or longer they were 40% more likely to develop brain tumors called gliomas. This study was performed on 4800 people, which is a large number as far as medical studies go. The tumor was more likely to develop on the side of the brain in which the phone was held next to. The cause of the brain tumor is the electromagnetic field radiating from the cell phone and or remote phone device clipped onto the ear. After reviewing this information, one fact became blatantly obvious to me, more and more parents are buying cell phones for their children. A child given a cell phone at 12 yrs old will be using the phone for over 20 years by the time they reach 35 yrs old. At this time, the only responsible recommendation to be made is that all cell phones should be used on speaker phone or with a head set attached and the phone kept at a reasonable distance from the brain. It should also be noted that some electromagnetic energy can travel up the head set cord. This radiation can be blocked by purchasing a special inexpensive ferrite bead that fits on the headset cord.
